Update who approves time requests
By default, line managers approve time requests, but you can choose someone else to approve them.
Change the approver

Sign in to Staffology HR.

Go to System Tools > Utilities > Apps > Request/Approval.
A table displays showing the existing approver set up for each module.

Find Time and select it.
The Request/Approval form displays. This is where you choose who approves time requests.
You can only choose one of the following: Line Manager, Employee, Custom Employee, External Email, or Approver Where Clause Allows you filter records using a specific criteria..

Complete the form's fields using this table as a guide:
Field Description Line Manager Choose if you want line managers to approve time requests. Employee Select a name from the list to make someone other than the line manager the approver.
Custom Employee Enter the number of the custom field you created to make this person the approver. External Email Enter an email address to allow someone to approve the request without signing into the system. Approver Where Clause Select the Builder (cog symbol) to open the Where Clause Builder.Here you can create an approver where clause for the approval route using Job Type or another criteria.The system then sends time requests to all users with that job type or whatever criteria you have added.
Employee Where Clause Select the cog icon to open the Where Clause Builder. Use it to create a rule that decides which employees’ time requests will follow this approval route. Stage Enter 1 in this field. This makes this approver the first person to approve the time request.
Type If needed, select the Time Type you created in Lookup Tables. CC manager on Approval Select this box if you want the manager to get a copy when the request is finally approved. Internal Select this box if you do not want the email to include an approval link. The approver must approve requests through the Notification panel on their Home page. Leave it unticked if you want the email to include a link to approve or reject the request.
Remove form data from email Select this box to stop sensitive form data from sending in emails. -
Select Save.
